Drupal Upgrade to 6.8

I was a little bit slacking with me keeping Drupal not very up to date recently. I was still running 6.5 and 6.8 has already been released with some important security fixes.

At first I hesitated a little bit, never upgrade a running system, yadayada, you know why. But in the end I thought with my method I cannot lose any data.

BTW: to backup the database I use mysqldump --add-drop-database --add-drop-table --add-locks --create-options -l --order-by-primary -q -v --user=username --password=pass dbname > dbname.sql.

I also had a number of modules requesting new versions to be installed (Views, CCK, etc.) and decided to make it in one shot.

I unpacked drupal-6.8.tar.gz and copied my sites directory and replaced all modules with their current version. Only now I opened update.php to run the update functions and let them update the database. This worked (for me).
